Founded in 1887, Avoca Baptist has grown from a one room church to a campus offering opportunity for worship, friendship, education, entertainment and spiritual growth. Our church has something to offer everyone. Come and celebrate with us, in worship, Sunday School, recreation at the Family Life Center, small group discussions and activities, Courts For Christ youth basketball, Vanguard younger youth, CIA Puppet Crew, or one of our many other activities that engage us in a time for friendship, fellowship, celebration, Bible study and worship. The message of Jesus Christ is a great cause for celebration together! Isn’t it time for you to get connected? Come grow with us!

This is our annual homecomming sheeproast celebration
We have this in the first Sunday in October

About the church Logo– the logo was designed by a member of our church to reflect our theme:

“A community of faith, dedicated to connecting people to God and each other’”

The two smaller circles represent the relationship of us as individuals being connected to each other, and the larger circle represents God, and the circles overlap to indicate the relationship of how we are connected to each other and to God.

Note the interconnection that is blackened out produces the ‘fish’ symbol used by Christians long ago as a symbol of their faith and is still used today (Ichthys, the Greek work for fish,  is used as an acrostic for ‘Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior’),

The cross is in red, representing Christ’s blood  shed on the cross. There are three crosses as was the case when he was crucified, and three also represents the trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).

The purple tones of the rings represent royalty, as God is our King, and we are His ambassadors.
